New Year around the World...

I was sitting down and looking at a forum post when I saw a post about New Years. Since lots of places in the US have different time zones, does New Year's happen at the same time or at their times? Do they use GMT or NY's time? o.o

Funny how these questions come about...

Yeah it's true that New Years is not celebrated at all at the same time! I think for the year 2000, there was this company that was doing this New Years party for super-rich people. It was really expensive but the thing was that they start in New Zealand (I think) since that's where midnight hits first, and then they have a small party there and everyone gets on a plane (I think it was a concord - the supersonic plane) and every hour they hit a new country and party for like 20 hours straight or something and you could celebrate the year 2000 all night long in different places as it hit.

Sounds crazy but must have been a lot of fun!

Lol yea, I get to go through that every year when I call my parents on New Year's, and they're like, it's only 11 pm here. -_-
