Guild level limit?

I've been thinking about how random our guild is right now and how it might be nice to make a minimum level limit to join. Current members would be exempt from the limit if they're under the limit, I suppose, granted that they keep leveling up. I think maybe 20 should be the base to weed out mules and fame/defame type people. What are your opinions? Vote and/or give an idea as to what the minimum should be. Thanks!

I would do 40 just because of the current guild members and what not... 30 is easy to get too, and would at least keep it too 2nd job advance and above...

I got to 30 in three days... It's really not hard if you just work on it a bit... I just think that 30-40 shows some sort of dedication to the character, because most makes new ones if they dont like it by 40...

True, but I think we can up the guild limit after a little while. We still have some lower level members that are nice people who happen to level slower than others. We want to encourage friendliness, not just make the guild about having high level people. I have no plans to kick anyone out who is under our limit and currently in the guild, but you have to admit that it's harder to find higher level people to recruit.

We do need a limit to the number of lower level characters. Every guild needs some new blood, so to speak, therefore I would not make it too high. In my opinion, if we nurture lower level players a bit, then we will have a stronger guild, friendlier guild, more helpful guild and members would stay put longer. Is that not our goal? (Plus we need someone on hand to buy our drops - haha - just kidding!)

Yes that is true Ara, and I am by no means saying to boot the lower levels that we do have in our guild.... After all we do need lower levels for GPQ and what not, and just because they are friendly. As long as they are decent acting and not completely... Annoying... to put it simply. Then we are good to go.

But I do think we should make it 40 or so and progressively make it higher. And yes it'll be hard to find higher leveled people who would want to join, but it's not impossible.

we should start from 20+, then after a few weeks put it higher like 35+ thats what my old guild did
they start from 30+ till 45+

The problem is that high leveled people with no guild are always fishy... I mean, are they hackers? Are they idiots who got kicked from their old guild?

I do like Ara's idea of letting members grow with the guild so it builds loyalty and family. A lot of high level people tend to be guild hoppers.

I think we should up it to level 30+ and keep the lower leveled members. Then after the new members get to level 35+ up it to 35+, and the same for 40+. Basically, I think 40+ is good for a level limit.

I agree with the 20+ idea but atleast start at 25+, but some of our members are lazy lvlers and so it will take a very long time to hit 30+.....

No offense to the slower lvls, i have been lazy myself, finally got past that stupid 30-35 UGH!

except we should keep evreyone below 25 and let them level and start adding people that are like 30+

I guess 25+ works for me. Kerning PQ area is a great recruiting place in case you guys are interested in adding members. I would like to fill the guild with lots of active members before we start moving the level limit higher, though. The problem with 30+ is that the majority of maplers already have a guild by then, so I'm always afraid that whoever is left is someone who's so annoying he/she got booted from their old guild or is someone who is a guild hopper.

Let's focus on getting people who are friendly and active so that we can all grow together!

to get more members by using Smega's
but.. the price is many guild hoppers/annoying people
but it might worth a try

Ewwwww, I don't like the idea of using smegas because you tend to get a lot of weirdos, most of whom end up quitting the guild later anyhow. I wouldn't respond to a guild recruiting smega if I were looking for a guild... would you?

Yes, I would... and Chrissy you and I did it... And we got a few good members out of it... it all just depends on how you word the smega... so those who are decent people will join... Such as: R> Active Mature Maplers...

If you say Mature you'll get an older crowd... yeah they may be younger and you'll get some kids but you may get one or two good ones out of the bunch that respond...

And I usually advertise 40+ because you always get the few who want to join anyway who are 30-40...

Guild limit.. lvl 30 and 20 fame as a general guide ? But we also need to find out if they play alot.
We have 3 pages of members. Are they all active ? I have only seen about 20 active in the past month. If we want an active guild then we have to let the ppls we recruit know what we expect.
If they are not going to be playing much and we need the room they might be kicked for inactivity.
I guess, what i am really wondering is what is the aim of the guild, very active with lots of members ? active with a few ? ??

20 fame at lvl 30??? That's a bit much, considering that if you're really grinding, you can get to lvl 30 within a day or 2.

We will be doing some housekeeping in the guild very soon to get rid of all the ??? next to names, but this means ALL jr. masters need to start recruiting people to make up for the ones we kick. I believe we've expanded the guild to have up to 75 members right now, and we haven't even broken 60 since the ShadowShades people left. Let's all put some effort into adding some new blood into the guild!

im good with 25+ and besides im not sayin this cause im one of them but it is always kinda nice to have lower levals it reminds u that ur the higher leval

30-40+ seems good, kinda weird though since I'm level 28 with the char thats in the guild right now (I have 40+ chars though). Anyways, its true, it should only take about 3-10 days max to get to level 30. As QuietDemise said, "its really not that hard".

We're just hoping that by getting people who train and level we're hopefully gonna get more active people for the guild rather then people who join us with their 2nd or 3rd chars and never sign on! That's the worst...
